Thiago Maia Alencar (born 23 March 1997) is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Internacional in Brazil’s top league. He is 1.80 m tall and wears number 29.

Maia was born in Boa Vista, Roraima. He started with local clubs Extremo Norte, then joined São Caetano’s youth team, and later moved to Santos. He made his first-team debut for Santos in 2014 and scored his first goal in 2015, becoming a regular starter in 2016.

In 2017, Maia moved to Lille in France for about €14 million. He played there until 2022, including a loan spell back to Brazil with Flamengo in 2020–2021. Flamengo made the move permanent in 2022.

In March 2024, he joined Internacional on loan with a plan to buy, and in July 2024 Internacional bought him outright, signing him until 2026.

Internationally, Maia has represented Brazil at youth levels (U17, U20, U23) and competed in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, becoming the first athlete from his state, Roraima, to play in the Games.

In December 2024, he received the FIFA Fair Play Award for volunteering during the floods in Rio Grande do Sul.
