Da'Marcus Fleming
Da’Marcus Fleming is an American sprinter who competes in the 60m, 100m and 200m. He was born on December 21, 2001.
Fleming attended Miami Northwestern High School, where he was one of the top high school sprinters in the country before the COVID-19 season was halted. He signed with Louisiana State University (LSU) in 2020 to continue his track career.
Key results and milestones:
- 2022: Runner-up in the 100m at the LSU Invitational with 10.02 seconds in Baton Rouge. The LSU relay team had baton-change issues at the SEC Championships, and Fleming’s team was disqualified from NCAA prelims due to an outside-change-zone baton exchange.
- 2023: Won at the LSU Invitational in the 100m, finishing ahead of Erriyon Knighton. He helped LSU’s 4x100m relay set a college-record time of 37.90 seconds at the SEC Championship in Baton Rouge. Fleming qualified for the NCAA Championships in Texas and finished 4th in the 100m with a wind-legal 9.97 seconds. He also ran on LSU’s 4x100m relay team that won the gold medal at the NCAA Championships.
- 2023 USA Outdoor Championships: Reached the semi-finals in the 100m.
- 2023 LSU Alumni Gold: Finished second in the 100m with 10.03 seconds, narrowly behind Devin Augustine by 0.01 seconds.
- 2024: Part of LSU’s 4x100m relay that won the SEC Championship in Florida.
