DTZ
DTZ was a London-based commercial property company with roots dating back to 1853. It began as Debenham, Tewson & Chinnocks and, after a 1993 joint venture with France’s Jean Thouard and the Zadelhoff Group, became DTZ. It was listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1987. The company ran into financial difficulties and went into administration in December 2011, with most assets sold to repay debt. In 2014 it was sold to a consortium of TPG Capital, PAG and the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. On 1 September 2015 Cushman & Wakefield merged with DTZ and the DTZ brand was retired. DTZ Investors continues as part of Cushman & Wakefield, operating as a full-service real estate manager. Headquartered in London and serving clients worldwide, DTZ had about 47,000 employees in 2014. Tod Lickerman served as chief executive.
