9 The Shambles is a historic two-storey timber-framed building on The Shambles in York, England. It was built in the 15th century, and the upper floor and attic jet out over the street.

The building may have started with three bays, but now only two bays survive, with two extra bays from the 16th century attached. The front roof also dates from the same period. A brick chimney breast from the 17th century remains, along with a fireplace in the attic. In the 18th century, the first floor was raised and the front was decorated with plasterwork (pargetting).

9 The Shambles is a Grade II* listed building, listed on 14 June 1954, and was restored from 1955 onward. Since 2007, the shop has been W. Hamond jewellers, known for Whitby jet jewelry.

Location: 9 The Shambles, York, North Yorkshire, England. Coordinates: 53.959561°N, 1.080139°W.

Gallery notes: Includes a photo of the shop frontage (2019) and an interactive map.
