2002–03 First League of Serbia and Montenegro
The 2002–03 First League of Serbia and Montenegro was the 11th and last season of FR Yugoslavia’s top league and the first season of Serbia and Montenegro’s top league after the country was renamed in February 2003. Eighteen teams competed (14 from Serbia and four from Montenegro). Partizan Belgrade won the title, earning their 18th domestic championship. The coach changed during the season from Ljubiša Tumbaković (until December) to Lothar Matthäus.
Relegated were Mladost Lučani, Zvezdara, Mladost Apatin and Radnički Kragujevac. They were replaced by the 2001–02 Second League champions: Radnički Obrenovac (North), Radnički Niš (East), Javor Ivanjica (West), and Mogren (South).
Top scorer: Zvonimir Vukić with 22 goals. The season included 306 matches and 793 total goals (about 2.59 per game).
European spots went to: Partizan for the Champions League; Red Star Belgrade and Sartid to the UEFA Cup; OFK Beograd and Sutjeska to the Intertoto Cup.
