Cynan Nant Nyfer

Cynan Nant Nyfer, also called Cynan of the Nevern Valley, flourished around 865. He was a Welsh warrior whose death is recorded in many Welsh histories. He is credited with many victories against the Saxons. Another form of his name is Cynan Nawdd Nifer, meaning “Cynan, Protection of Many.”
