Junior Roqica

Vitale Junior Roqica (born 13 February 1991) is a Fiji international rugby league player who can play as a prop or a second-row forward. He was born in Camperdown, New South Wales, Australia, and is of Fijian descent. Roqica played junior rugby for the Concord Burwood Wolves and Holy Cross Rhinos, and was part of the Balmain Tigers development program. He spent time with the Wests Tigers’ NYC team (2008–2011), then joined the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in 2012, where he played in the NSW Cup but did not appear in the NRL for the club. In 2013 he joined the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks and made his NRL debut in Round 11 of the 2014 season against South Sydney. While with Cronulla, he often played for Newtown in the NSW Cup/Intrust Super Premiership NSW. He moved to the London Broncos ahead of the 2017 Super League season, where he competed in the English Championship.

Internationally, Roqica has represented Fiji from 2013 to 2019, earning 15 caps and scoring one try. He debuted for Fiji in the 2013 Rugby League World Cup against Ireland and scored a decisive try in Fiji’s quarter-final win over Samoa. He also played for Fiji in the 2014 Pacific Test and the 2016 Melanesian Cup against Papua New Guinea, and in 2019 appeared for the Fiji Prime Minister’s XIII.
