Communications Earth & Environment
Communications Earth & Environment is a peer‑reviewed, open‑access scientific journal from Nature Portfolio that started in 2020. It covers Earth science, environmental science, and planetary science. The editor‑in‑chief is Heike Langenberg. The journal is part of Nature Portfolio’s Communications family, which also includes Communications Biology, Communications Chemistry, and Communications Physics, launched after 2018. Articles are published online as soon as they are accepted and are available under the CC‑BY 4.0 license. The journal is indexed in major databases and had a 2023 impact factor of 8.1, ranking 32nd out of 358 journals in Environmental Sciences and 11th out of 254 in Geosciences, Multidisciplinary.
