Micropholis polita is a plant in the Sapotaceae family. It grows in eastern Cuba and Haiti and is threatened by habitat loss, so it is listed as Vulnerable. There are two recognized subspecies. The species has several synonyms, including Pouteria polita, Sapota polita, and Sideroxylon politum. The full scientific name is Micropholis polita (Griseb.) Pierre.
