Colin Moran (Gaelic footballer)
Colin “Collie” Moran (born 6 June 1980 in Dublin) is a former Gaelic footballer who played as a centre back. He spent his club career with Ballyboden St Enda's from 1997 to 2009 and played for the Dublin county team from 1998 to 2009. He made 80 appearances for Dublin, scoring 1 goal and 48 points, and helped Dublin win five Leinster titles. Moran captained Dublin to Leinster championships in 2006 and 2007.
He made his senior inter-county debut in October 1998. In 2004 he broke his arm in a challenge match against Limerick between two Championship games. He also played for Ireland in the International Rules Series against Australia and won the Railway Cup with Leinster in 2005 (against Ulster) and as captain in 2006 (against Connacht in Boston).
Moran retired from inter-county football on 22 April 2009 due to a hip injury. After football, he worked as a brand ambassador for Opel Ireland to promote GAA sponsorships and has done sports commentary on TV and radio, including Ireland AM and RTÉ Radio 1’s Drivetime Sport.
