Clayton Klein
Clayton C. Klein Jr. (born November 13, 1949) is a former Democratic member of the Oregon House of Representatives. He represented Central Point and parts of Jackson County from January 1977 to 1981. He won election in November 1976, took office in January 1977, and was reelected in 1978. He served in the 59th and 60th Oregon Legislatures and in a 1980 special session. In his first term, he supported lowering Oregon’s legal drinking age from 21 to 18. While a student at Southern Oregon College, he helped lead a group pushing for this change. In January 1979, he was elected House majority whip. Klein was defeated in the November 1980 election by Republican Rebecca DeBoer. He was born in Tillamook, Oregon.
