Peter Stewart Macliver
Peter Stewart Macliver (1822 – 19 April 1891) was a Scottish journalist and Liberal Party politician. He served as the Member of Parliament for Plymouth from 1880 to 1885. He was the son of David Macliver of Kilchoman, Islay, and was educated at Glasgow High School and the University of Glasgow. A journalist by trade, he co-founded the Western Daily Press in Bristol in 1858 and later served as a Justice of the Peace for Somerset. In 1842 he married Anne Miller, daughter of P Miller of Glasgow. He died aged 68. He was a cousin of Field Marshal Baron Clyde.
