Clavus moquinianus is a small sea snail in the Drilliidae family. Its shell grows up to 12 mm long and 4.5 mm wide. The shell is spindle-shaped with a pointed spire and nine flattened whorls with shallow sutures; the second-to-last whorl is a bit convex. The first two whorls are white and smooth. The shell has oblique ribs that fade toward the top and the base of the body whorl, with close revolving lines. The inside of the body whorl is white. The outer lip is sharp, and the columellar lip has a thick callus. The anal sinus is moderate and rounded. The siphonal canal is wide but very short and slightly curved. The shell color is yellowish-white with chestnut markings and faint chestnut lines. This species occurs off New Caledonia.
