Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania
Clarks Summit is a small borough in Lackawanna County, northeastern Pennsylvania, just north of Scranton. It covers about 1.6 square miles of land and had around 5,100 residents in 2020. The borough is known as the northern control city for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Northeast Extension (I-476), though the official end is in nearby South Abington Township. The area’s first settler was William Clark, a Revolutionary War veteran who received land from Congress; due to land disputes, the current town was incorporated on August 30, 1911. The population is predominantly White, with small percentages of other races and about 6–7% Hispanic or Latino residents. The median household income is around $87,000, and the per-capita income is about $49,500. An interesting note: Clarks Summit is mentioned in The Office episode Threat Level Midnight.
