Chronicon complutense sive alcobacense, or the Complutensian Chronicle from Alcalá de Henares (ancient Complutum), is a short medieval Latin history written as annals. It records events in Galicia and Portugal up to the death in 1065 of Ferdinand I “the Great,” whom the anonymous author praises as an exceedingly strong emperor. It is the earliest chronicle focused on Galaico-Portuguese history. The first edition was published by Enrique Flórez in 1767. A later edition, incorporating the Chronicon conimbrigense, appeared as Annales Portugalenses veteres (APV, “old Portuguese annals”) by Pierre David.
