Christophe Michalak
Christophe Michalak (born 22 July 1973) is a French master pâtissier, author and TV presenter. He was born in Senlis, France, and as a child he wanted to be an architect, but at 15 he chose pastry. He trained in pâtisserie at Angers and went on to work in top kitchens around the world, including Hilton London and Brussels, Hotel Negresco in Nice, Fauchon in Paris, Kobe, Pierre Hermé in New York, Ladurée in Paris, and Plaza Athénée in Paris.
In 2013 he opened Michalak's Master Class in Paris and launched Michalak Takeaway. He has earned major awards such as World Champion Pâtissier in 2005 as part of the French team and Pastry Chef of the Year in 2013. He has written five cookbooks and a collection of his best recipes.
Michalak has hosted several French TV programs about pastry and served as a judge on France 2’s Qui sera le prochain grand pâtissier. He also hosted Le gâteau de mes rêves on Téva (2012–2013) and co-produced Dans la peau d'un chef on France 2 starting in 2013.
He is married to actress Delphine McCarty since August 2013 and currently works with Alain Ducasse at the Michelin three-star Plaza Athénée in Paris.
