The Green is a small historic open space on Saint Helena Island near Frogmore, in Beaufort County, South Carolina. It sits at the southeast corner of U.S. Highway 21 and Lands End Road, and covers less than an acre. The site dates to 1893 and has long served as a gathering place for the island’s residents, hosting community meetings, celebrations, and other events. The Green was the site of the first Darrah Hall, an auditorium and community center built about 1885 by Penn School and destroyed in 1893. Since then, The Green has continued to serve as a community gathering place. At the rear is the Knights of Wise Men Lodge. The Green was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on October 6, 1988, as part of the Historic Resources of St. Helena Island.
