Charles E. Myers
Charles E. Myers Jr., nicknamed Chuck, was born on March 21, 1925, in Hampton, Virginia, and died on May 9, 2016, in Naples, Florida. He was an aviation pioneer and an early member of the Pentagon’s Fighter Mafia. Myers held the rank of lieutenant and served in the United States Army Air Forces and the United States Navy. From 1973 to 1978, he was the Director for Air Warfare in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, where he launched Project Harvey, the program that helped develop stealth technology. He is buried at Culpeper National Cemetery and was married to Sallie Myers.
