Celeste Barber (born 6 May 1982) is an Australian comedian, actress and author. She became famous for satirical posts that poke fun at celebrity life. Barber grew up in Terranora, New South Wales, with her sister Olivia. She was diagnosed with ADD at 16 while at Saint Joseph’s College, Tweed Heads. She left school at 17 and trained in acting at Theatre Nepean, University of Western Sydney, graduating in 2002.

She began as an actress, playing Bree Matthews on All Saints (2005–2009). She also did sketch work and appeared on The Matty Johns Show. Barber later moved into comedy and is now known for her social media videos. She stars in Wellmania, a Netflix comedy released in 2023 based on Brigid Delaney’s memoir, and she performs all her own stunts. She is also known for The Letdown.

Barber’s Instagram fame started in 2015 with the hashtag #celestechallengeaccepted, where she recreated celebrity photos to show how real life compares to online images. One post imitating Kim Kardashian went viral.

She has written three books: Challenge Accepted (2018), Celeste the Giraffe Loves to Laugh (2019) and Flamingo Celeste is Not like the Rest (2021). The last book was shortlisted for a Western Australian children’s prize in 2022.

During the 2019–20 bushfire season, she helped raise over A$50 million for the NSW Rural Fire Service. After legal issues, the funds were handled according to court rulings in 2020.

Barber hosts a podcast, Celeste & Her Best, and in 2024 launched Booie Beauty, a makeup brand with Claire Greaves. She is married to Api Robin and has two sons and two stepdaughters.
