Castelfranci is a small town and comune in the province of Avellino, Campania, in southern Italy. It covers about 11.69 square kilometers and sits at 450 meters above sea level. As of June 30, 2017, about 1,996 people lived there, and they are called Castellesi. The mayor is Generoso Cresta. The postal code is 83040 and the area code is 0827. The town’s patron saint is St. Nicholas of Bari, celebrated on May 9. In local dialects the town is known as Castafrancia (Neapolitan) or Castiella (Irpino).
