Carl Duane Pursell (December 19, 1932 – June 11, 2009) was an American politician from Michigan. A Republican, he represented Michigan's 2nd congressional district in the U.S. House from 1977 to 1993. Earlier, he served in the Michigan Senate (1971–1977) and as Wayne County Commissioner (1969–1971).

Born in Imlay City, Michigan, Pursell grew up in Plymouth and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1951. He worked in his father's business and served in the U.S. Army (1957–1959). He earned a BA in 1957 and an MA in 1961 from Eastern Michigan University, where he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon. He received an alumnus achievement award in 1974 and a distinguished alumnus award in 1990.

As a congressman, he was seen as a moderate and served as ranking member of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Education. After leaving Congress, he was a regent of Eastern Michigan University from 1993 to 1999. Pursell died at his home in Plymouth, Michigan, on June 11, 2009, at age 76. He was survived by his wife Peggy and their three children.
