Roaring Creek is an unincorporated community in Avery County, North Carolina. It is named after the nearby Roaring Creek and sits along U.S. Route 19E between the communities of Frank and Plumtree. The area sits at about 3,000 feet above sea level.

In the Revolutionary War, the Overmountain Men, led by William Campbell, camped at Roaring Creek on September 27, 1780, after crossing Yellow Mountain Gap. They continued on to Kings Mountain, where they fought the British on October 7, 1780.
