1544 Vinterhansenia
1544 Vinterhansenia is a dark asteroid in the inner asteroid belt, about 22 kilometers across. It was discovered on 15 October 1941 by Finnish astronomer Liisi Oterma at Turku Observatory in Finland and is named after Danish astronomer Julie Vinter Hansen.
It is classified as both C-type and X-type, indicating a carbon-rich, very dark surface. It orbits the Sun in the inner main belt at roughly 2.1 to 2.6 astronomical units, completing one orbit every about 3.66 years (1,335 days). Its orbit is somewhat elliptical and inclined by about 3 degrees to the plane of the Solar System.
The asteroid has a very dark surface with albedo around 0.04 to 0.08. Size estimates range from about 21 to 26 kilometers, with a commonly cited value near 21.6 km. It spins every ~13.7 hours, showing only small brightness changes.
It was also observed earlier, in 1906 as A906 DB and in 1928 as 1928 DO, both at Heidelberg. The official naming was published in 1956.
