Career Development and Transition for Exceptional Individuals is a triannual, peer‑reviewed journal. It publishes research on secondary education, transition planning, and career development for people with disabilities. The editors‑in‑chief are Erik W. Carter (Vanderbilt University) and Valerie L. Mazzotti (University of North Carolina). The journal began in 1978 and is published by SAGE Publications, in partnership with the Hammill Institute on Disabilities and the Division on Career Development and Transition of the Council for Exceptional Children. Its former name was Career Development for Exceptional Individuals. Written in English, the journal is indexed in major databases and offers online access and an online archive.
