Captain Morgane and the Golden Turtle is a 2012 point-and-click adventure game from Wizarbox and Reef Entertainment, released for Windows, PlayStation 3, Wii, and Nintendo DS. It serves as a prequel to So Blonde and So Blonde: Back to the Island.

The story follows Morgane Castillo, an eight-year-old girl growing up on Bounty Island in the Caribbean in the 17th century. She dreams of becoming a pirate captain, even though that’s unusual for a girl. After her mother dies and her uncle Eduardo (a parrot) disappears, Morgane’s pirate father, Alessandro, returns with new secrets. On her 17th birthday, Morgane is named second mate and acts as captain for the day. She is asked to recruit crew members, find good work, and help her father move on from his grief.

Morgane’s search for work leads her to Thomas Briscoe, a pensioned merchant who wants to find the legendary Golden Turtle. He hires the Winsome Maid, and their journey takes them to Crab Island, Hollow Island, Tanner Island, and Turtle Island. Along the way, Morgane uncovers clues about her friends, family, and a rival pirate named Hilary Simpkins. Diego, Alessandro’s former ally, also plays a key role.

On Hollow Island Morgane learns that Diego’s loyalties are complex. They rescue Briscoe’s wife Elizabeth and race to reunite the Briscoes. A ghostly message from Morgane’s mother’s spirit helps her understand what to do next. They reach Crab Island and discover that Uncle Eduardo, the parrot, was part of the treasure-hunters’ clues all along.

The team finally reaches Turtle Island, where Baba Carey, the island priest, and Simpkins plot to steal riches. Morgane befriends a native girl named Tanama. They discover the Golden Turtle is dying because its sacred egg has been stolen. Morgane retrieves the egg, the Golden Turtle revives, and Baba Carey loses his power. Tanama is wounded but saved, and she becomes the new priest, with Baba Carey removed from office.

With the treasure in hand, the crew is rewarded. Morgane and her companions choose the White Gold Skull, a talking skull that is said to lead to Ruby Heart’s treasure. They defeat Simpkins, take his ship, and leave him stranded. Morgane’s family and friends celebrate, and she proves herself as a true captain.
