Kayode Ted Adams (died October 1969) was a student activist at the University of Lagos (UNILAG). In 1965 he stabbed the university’s Vice-Chancellor Saburi Biobaku during a campus event. Biobaku had been appointed after the government did not renew Prof Eni Njoku’s term, a move many students saw as ethnic favoritism. The stabbing caused tensions and UNILAG was shut for several months. Adams was charged with stabbing Biobaku, claimed insanity, but was found guilty of attempted murder. He was sent to Yaba Psychiatric Hospital and expelled from UNILAG. Adams was found dead at Bar Beach in October 1969, likely drowned.
