Calamus jenkinsianus
Calamus jenkinsianus is an Asian rattan palm in the palm family. It belongs to the Calameae tribe and is also known by its synonym Daemonorop s jenkinsiana. This species grows across parts of South and Southeast Asia, including Assam, Bangladesh, Cambodia, eastern Himalaya, southeastern China and Hainan, Laos, Myanmar, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam (where it is called mây rút). The seeds are harvested to make Buddhist prayer beads.
