CS Speranța Jucu
Club Sportiv Speranța Jucu, commonly known as Speranța Jucu or the Jucanii, is a Romanian football club from Jucu, Cluj County. They currently compete in Liga IV – Cluj County, the fourth level of Romanian football. The team plays at the Unirea stadium, which has a capacity of 800, and is owned by the Jucu Commune. The club’s chairman is Adrian Popescu and the manager is Laur Aștilean. In the 2023–24 season they finished 10th of 12 in Liga IV Cluj County and withdrew from the league.
History
- Founded in 1974 as Unirea Jucu, the club spent most of its early years at amateur level.
- In 2013 they were promoted to Liga III after winning Liga IV – Cluj County and beating Someșul Cărășeu 1–0 in the promotion playoff; Mănășturean scored the winning goal.
- In Liga III they finished 8th (2013–14), 7th (2014–15), and 4th (2015–16).
- In 2016 the club faced funding problems, but a new investor kept it going and they finished 4th in 2016–17.
- In 2017 the club was dissolved due to financial issues and re-founded in the same period as Speranța Jucu, restarting in the fifth tier.
