Bundesverband Großhandel, Außenhandel, Dienstleistungen e.V. (BGA) is the German umbrella association for wholesale, foreign trade, and services. It is based in Berlin. It was founded on March 29, 1949 by 40 associations as a general association for German wholesale and foreign trade. Today it has about 70 member associations and represents around 125,000 German companies with annual sales of roughly 1 trillion euros. The BGA represents the sector’s interests in professional, economic, and social policy and lobbies with the federal government, the Bundestag, and the Bundesrat. The presidium is led by President Holger Bingmann, and the CEO is Gerhard Handke.
