Bud Stallworth, born January 18, 1950 in Hartselle, Alabama, is a former American basketball player. A 6-foot-5 guard/forward, he played for the Kansas Jayhawks from 1969 to 1972, earning consensus second-team All-American and the Big Eight Player of the Year honors in 1972. He scored 50 points in a 1972 win over Missouri. Stallworth was chosen seventh overall in the 1972 NBA draft by the Seattle SuperSonics (and was also drafted by the Denver Rockets in the ABA draft). He played in the NBA from 1972 to 1977 for the Seattle SuperSonics (1972–1974) and the New Orleans Jazz (1974–1977). His career was cut short by a back injury sustained in a car accident in 1977. Kansas retired his No. 15 jersey in his honor. He finished his KU career with 2,403 points (7.7 ppg), 861 rebounds (2.8 rpg) and 213 assists (0.7 apg), and earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Kansas in 1978.
