Bothrolysin is an enzyme found in the venom of the jararaca snake (Bothrops jararaca). It is a metalloendopeptidase (EC 3.4.24.50), also known as Bothrops metalloendopeptidase J or J protease. It helps break down peptide bonds in proteins as part of the venom’s effects.
