Cyprian Howe
Cyprian Howe (1726–1806) was an American Revolutionary War colonel from Massachusetts. He was born on March 29, 1726, in Marlborough, Massachusetts, and was a well-known local figure who ran a tavern. As a captain, he led a company to Cambridge on April 19, 1775, at the start of the war. In the summer of 1780, he commanded a Massachusetts militia unit that reinforced the Continental Army in Rhode Island. He eventually rose to the rank of colonel in the Massachusetts militia. Howe married Dorothy on November 29, 1750, and later Mary Williams on February 6, 1766. He died in 1806.
