Owen Van Natta
Owen Thomas Van Natta (born November 12, 1969) is an American businessman who has led teams and built businesses across e-commerce, social networking, music streaming, gaming, and investing. He is the founder of OVN Capital and Prefix Capital, and has held senior roles at Amazon, Facebook, MySpace, Project Playlist, and Zynga. He earned a BA in English and American literature from the University of California, Santa Cruz, in 1992. He is also a founder of 415, LLC.
Career highlights
- 1998–2005: Vice President of Worldwide Business and Corporate Development at Amazon, where he managed global marketing programs and partnerships and was part of the A9.com search initiative.
- 2005–2008: Chief Operating Officer (later Chief Revenue Officer) at Facebook, focusing on revenue operations and strategic partnerships.
- 2008: Chief Executive Officer of Project Playlist, a music-sharing site.
- 2009–2010: Chief Executive Officer of MySpace, driving the company’s strategic vision and global business initiatives as it shifted toward entertainment content distribution.
- 2010–2011: Executive Vice President of Business at Zynga, joining the board in August 2010 and leading revenue strategy, corporate development, international expansion, and branding. He left Zynga on November 17, 2011.
Personal life
Van Natta married Jennifer Van Natta in 1998; they have two children. The couple divorced in August 2019.
