Cristopher Chávez Cuellar
Cristopher Chávez Cuellar (born 1973) is a Colombian serial killer from Puerto Leguízamo, Putumayo. Known as “The Soulless,” he is believed to have killed at least 15 people from the 1990s to 2015, including a taxi driver, a woman in Ibagué, and four minors in 2015. In November 2015 he was sentenced to 40 years in prison for the murder of the Vanegas brothers.
His crimes began in Tolima in the late 1990s. One early victim was a woman he met in Huila, whom he abducted, raped and killed before moving to Ibagué. From 1998 to 2004 he carried out several brutal crimes. He was captured in Ibagué and sentenced to 40 years, but released for good behavior.
Another murder he faced was in 1998 in Neiva, the killing of Juan Carlos Cuenca Charry, which he committed with his brother. He was sentenced to 44 years but released early for serving the minimum years.
In 2015 he also tried to kill a gas station manager in Florencia. His last known crime occurred on February 4, 2015, in Caquetá, where he killed four underage children over a land dispute; one survivor escaped and informed authorities. He was captured later that month after a large police operation, but he briefly escaped from Las Heliconias Prison and was recaptured in Curillo. He was moved to Cómbita Prison, one of Colombia’s most secure facilities.
On November 20, 2015, Chávez Cuellar and Genderson Carrillo Ordóñez were sentenced to 40 years for the murder of the Vanegas brothers.
