Stacey Morrison
Stacey Morrison (born Stacey Larissa Pirihira Daniels in Christchurch, New Zealand, in 1973 or 1974) is a New Zealand television and radio host, actress and MC. She speaks fluent te Reo Māori and works to promote Māori language, culture and health.
She studied at Aranui High School, where she and her father James Daniels served on the school’s board of trustees. Her first TV role came at age 18 on the children’s show What Now. She later hosted Mai Time in the late 1990s and was nominated in 2002 for Best Presenter at the TV Guide NZ Television Awards.
Morrison has hosted radio on Mai FM, Flava and Classic Hits FM. She married Scotty Morrison in Rotorua on 7 January 2006, and they have three children.
In 2009 she co-hosted the Māori Television show It’s in the Bag with Pio Terei. She is an advocate and educator of Māori language and has co-written several Māori language books; she learnt Māori as an adult.
In February 2020, she was appointed cultural advisor for the Australian soap Home and Away after a Māori family joined the cast.
