Black Sifichi is a Scottish‑American spoken word artist and writer born in New York City who now lives in Paris. He has released albums with a wide range of collaborators, including Unsavoury Products and Genetically Modified with The Black Dog, and he co-wrote the track Versus with EZ3kiel. His more recent musical projects include Lost-Wax with The Floating Roots Orchestra, The Uncertain Trail and Floating Roots with Lena, and Ashes to Ashes - Dub to Dub and Spoken Dub Manifesto Vol 1. A fourth album, Burning Before Sunset, was planned for release in 2010 with Brain Damage, a duo from Saint-Étienne. Beyond making music, Sifichi is a DJ and radio host. He began mixing at Paris’ Radio Libertaire and later at Radio Nova, where he shared a bi-monthly slot with DJ Morpheus. The Sub Para Dub show moved to Couleurs 3 in Switzerland and later earned its own weekly place in the schedule. He now hosts a two-hour weekly radio program called Audiometric, blending contemporary, abstract, dub, hip-hop, neo-jazz, post-rock and more. Audiometric is broadcast on Aligre FM in Paris and other stations across France. He has performed at numerous festivals across France and Europe and has held residences at venues such as Batofar and Cithea in Paris.

Sifichi is also a photographer, with exhibitions in Paris and London. He received a Paris city grant for his photography of contemporary sculpture in public spaces, and his work is part of European photography collections. He has worked on various multidisciplinary projects, including performances with Norscq and Ghedalia Tazartes, and the double LP T.N.R.T.B.T.M.E released in 2010 on L'Étrange Sonothèque. His narrative work has been used in films and radio, and in 2009 he created Reaching For The Centre of Your Mind for Centre Pompidou and Optical Sound Records, as well as a full-length video Twist Over with Roma Napoli.
