Biarmosuchoides
Biarmosuchoides is a small mammal-like reptile (a therapsid) that lived about 268–265 million years ago in what is now Russia. It is known from only one fossil piece, the left lower jaw (dentary) SGU 104B/2051 found in Dubovka I, Orenburg Oblast. The species is Biarmosuchoides romanovi, named in 1994 by Tverdokhlebova and Ivakhnenko. Originally, Biarmosuchoides was classified as a biarmosuchian, but in 2022 researchers Suchkova, Golubev, and Shumov reinterpreted it as a therocephalian in the family Scylacosauridae, meaning its exact relationships within therapsids are still debated.
