Joanna Miles is an American actress who won two Emmy Awards for Laura Wingfield in the 1973 TV film The Glass Menagerie. She was born in Nice, France, to artists Jeanne Patterson Miles and Johannes Schiefer, and moved to the United States, becoming a citizen in 1941. She studied at The Putney School in Vermont and trained at the Actors Studio with actors like Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, and Dustin Hoffman.

Miles has appeared in many films and TV shows. She is known to Star Trek: The Next Generation fans as Perrin, Sarek’s wife, in the episodes Sarek and Unification. She also had a role in The Incredible Hulk episode “The Quiet Room,” and in Crossfire Trail (2001). Her other film work includes The Way We Live Now, Bug, The Ultimate Warrior, The Dark Secret of Harvest Home, A Fire in the Sky, Cross Creek, Blackout, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, Above Suspicion, Judge Dredd, and Sex and Breakfast.

She was married to William Burns from 1970 to 1977, and then to producer Michael Brandman in 1978; they have one son, Miles Brandman.
