2018–19 New York Islanders season

The Islanders’ 47th season saw them play mainly at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, with Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale used part-time for home games and all first‑round playoff games. They aimed to improve on last season’s 35–37–10 and return to the playoffs after missing out in 2016–17. Despite losing captain John Tavares in free agency, they qualified for the postseason.

Regular season
- Record: 48–27–7 (2nd in the Metropolitan Division, 4th in the Eastern Conference)
- Home: 24–13–4; Road: 24–14–3
- Goals for/against: 228/196
- Key leaders: Anders Lee (goals, 28), Mathew Barzal (assists 44; points 62), Scott Mayfield (PIM 68); Casey Cizikas and Adam Pelech both +22 in plus/minus
- Goaltending leader: Robin Lehner (wins 25); Christopher Gibson had a 1.50 GAA

Playoffs
- Clinched a playoff spot on March 30, 2019, with a 5–1 win over Buffalo.
- First round: swept the Pittsburgh Penguins (4–0) for the franchise’s first playoff series sweep since 1983.
- Second round: swept by the Carolina Hurricanes (0–4).

Notes
- The Islanders moved into the Barclays Center after leaving Nassau Coliseum in 2015, using the Coliseum again as a partial home venue and for all first‑round playoff games. Arena attendance averaged around 12,442.
