Xerophaeus bicavus, the Acornhoek mouse ground spider, is a ground-dwelling spider in the Gnaphosidae family. It is endemic to South Africa, found in eight provinces: Eastern Cape, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Northern Cape, North West, and Western Cape. It lives in forests, grasslands, Nama Karoo, and savannas from 0 to 1922 meters above sea level. The species is widespread and listed as Least Concern by SANBI, with eight protected areas providing protection and no major threats known. It was first described by Tucker in 1923 from Acornhoek, Limpopo, and both male and female specimens are known.
