Bassendean Oval, currently known as Steel Blue Oval for sponsorship, is a sports stadium in Bassendean, Western Australia. It opened in 1929 and was significantly upgraded in 1932. The venue holds about 22,000 people and has a grass surface. It is operated by the Swan Districts Football Club and is the home ground for the Swan Districts Swans in the WAFL and WAWFL. The first WAFL match at the oval was in 1934, and the record WAFL crowd is 22,350 for a Swan Districts vs. West Perth game in 1980. The oval has hosted music events such as the Big Day Out (1997, 1999–2001) and the Soundwave Festival (2008–2010). Heritage features include the main entrance gates on West Road and Brook Street from 1929, two timber grandstands built in 1932 and 1938, and clubrooms from 1932 and 1972.
