Bachelor in Paradise (Australian TV series)
Bachelor in Paradise Australia is a reality dating show for Australian audiences. It’s a spin-off of The Bachelor Australia and The Bachelorette Australia and features contestants who previously appeared on those series. The show is hosted by Osher Günsberg and aired on Network Ten from 25 March 2018 to 9 August 2020. It was filmed in Fiji and produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production. There were 3 seasons and 42 episodes.
Format: The mix of male and female contestants is uneven at the start. At each rose ceremony, either the men or the women have the power to hand out roses, and the power switches with every ceremony. Anyone who doesn’t receive a rose leaves the show. New bachelors or bachelorettes join each week, often with a date card. By the end, a few couples remain and must decide whether to stay together outside Paradise or go their separate ways.
Extras: A behind-the-scenes program called After Paradise aired after Season 1 on 10Play, giving extra footage. It was replaced in Season 2 by the Insider Guide, hosted by Osher Günsberg.
Status: In October 2020, it was announced the series would not return to Network Ten in 2021, though it could come back in the future.
Related shows: The Bachelor Australia, The Bachelorette Australia.
