Defense Acquisition Board
Defense Acquisition Board (DAB) is the senior advisory group for defense acquisitions in the U.S. Department of Defense. It is chaired by the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment and includes the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Secretaries of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, and several under secretaries of defense. Created in 1989, the DAB reviews and approves major weapon programs at key points to ensure they stay on schedule, within budget, and meet technical requirements.
