Eretis umbra, commonly known as the small marbled elf, is a butterfly in the family Hesperiidae. It ranges from South Africa to eastern Africa and Uganda. It resembles Eretis djaelaelae but lacks white forelegs. The wingspan is about 30–32 mm in males and 32–37 mm in females. Adults are on the wing year-round in warm areas and from August to May in cooler areas. The larvae feed on Chaetacanthus setiger and other plants including Phaulopsis, Dyschoriste, Justicia, and Asystasia (including Asystasia schimperi).
