Austrogomphus bifurcatus
Dark hunter (Austrogomphus bifurcatus) is a dragonfly living near streams and rivers in northern Queensland, Australia, including areas near Cairns. It is a medium-sized insect with a black and yellow body and belongs to the Gomphidae family. The scientific name is Austrogomphus bifurcatus, sometimes written as Austrogomphus (Pleiogomphus) bifurcatus. It was first described by Tillyard in 1909. The IUCN lists this species as Least Concern.
