Sam Nartey George is a Ghanaian politician from the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo-Prampram since 2017, after winning the 2016 election, and he was re-elected in 2020 and 2024.

Early life and education
Sam George was born on January 22, 1985 in Somanya, in the Eastern Region of Ghana. He earned a BSc in Agricultural Engineering (Soil & Water Engineering) from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He also holds an LL.B from the University of London (External), an Executive Master in Conflict, Peace, and Security from KAIPTC, and an MSc in International Strategy and Diplomacy from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in December 2022.

Career
Before entering Parliament, Sam George worked as an assistant director at the Office of the Head of the Civil Service (2010–2014) and as a communications specialist at the Office of the President (2014–2016). He has served as MP since 2017 and sits on the Public Accounts Committee and the Communications Committee.

Elections and parliamentary career
- In 2015, he won the NDC primary for Ningo-Prampram, defeating the long-time MP Enoch Teye Mensah.
- He won the 2016 general election for Ningo-Prampram and was re-elected in 2020.
- In 2023, he won the NDC primary again and then secured re-election in the 2024 general election, continuing as MP for the constituency.

Parliamentary committees
Sam George is a member of the Public Accounts Committee and the Communications Committee.

Anti-LGBTI legislation
Sam George was a lead figure in pushing for a private member bill to criminalize LGBTQI activities in Ghana. He chaired the eight-member committee that worked on the bill and defended it as landmark legislation, arguing that any economic consequences would be minimal. The issue drew international attention and controversy, including a 2021 incident where he threatened the Australian High Commissioner and criticism from various quarters in 2023 regarding U.S. politicians’ positions on LGBTQI rights.

Personal life
Sam George is a Christian and a member of Perez Chapel International. He is married and has three children.

Awards and recognition
In 2025, he was named Public Sector Digital Leader of the Year at the Digital Innovation Awards for his leadership in expanding digital skills and improving affordable data access in Ghana.
