Australian Saddleback Tumbler

The Australian Saddleback Tumbler is a fancy pigeon breed created in Australia through many years of selective breeding. Like all domesticated pigeons, it comes from the rock pigeon (Columba livia). It was first recognised as a breed in 1917. The bird is usually muffed (feathered legs), but a clean-legged version also exists. Its name comes from a saddle-like marking on its back; the head mark is usually a stripe, but can be a spot. They can be shown in many colors, with common shades including black, red, yellow, blue, silver, almond, and Andalusian. The breed is known for its distinctive color pattern and belongs to the tumblers, rollers and high flyers group.
