Aruray, born Socorro de la Cruz on July 18, 1922, in Calamba, Laguna, Philippines, was a Filipino actress, comedian, and dancer. She appeared in many films produced by Sampaguita Pictures and became one of the era’s most popular comedians from the 1950s to the 1980s. She often teamed up with fellow comedian Chichay. Aruray’s career lasted from 1946 to 1986. She was the daughter of Braulio de la Cruz and Eusebia Diaz. She died in 1988 in Manila, Philippines, at age 65 or 66.
