Arqana is a European horse auction house. It runs major sales like Ventes de Deauville, a large sale of young thoroughbreds held every August in Deauville, France. Arqana was formed when L’Agence Française de Vente du Pur-sang and Goffs France merged. The chairman is Georges Rimaud. The Aga Khan IV is the largest shareholder. A group of French breeders own about 30%, and Artcurial, the Dassault Group’s art auction arm, owns the rest. The Bloodhorse Market Watch says the Deauville August sale is a top place to find Grade/Group I winners.
