These Days (Alien Ant Farm song)
These Days is a nu metal song by Alien Ant Farm. It was the first single from their third album, Truant, released on July 1, 2003. The track lasts 3 minutes and 6 seconds and was recorded at Conway Studios in Hollywood, California. It was written by Tye Zamora, Dryden Mitchell, Mike Cosgrove, and Terry Corso, and produced by Dean DeLeo and Robert DeLeo. Although it originally appeared on their 1999 album Greatest Hits, it was reworked for Truant. The song was released by DreamWorks.
The music video, directed by Marc Klasfeld, was filmed on the rooftop of the Hollywood Masonic Temple, across from the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles. It was shot during the 2003 BET Awards as many hip hop artists arrived on the red carpet. The video shows reactions from stars such as Pharrell, Nelly, Snoop Dogg, Killer Mike, and Lil’ Kim. The band was briefly arrested at the scene and later released by authorities.
There is also another video of the band performing outside the Staples Center before a Justified and Stripped Tour show and crashing the West Hollywood Gay Pride Parade with an ant-themed float, which includes clips from the BET Awards performance.
